Serving Veterans - Ms. Lambert

Nine years in various assignments and overseas postings in the U.S. Army taught Teena Lambert how strong she could be. But after Hurricane Harvey, the retired assistant motor sergeant was grateful when our volunteers repaired her Harrisburg neighborhood home. This February she and her family were overwhelmed by freezing temperatures during the Winter Storm and Rebuilding Together was able to provide emergency plumbing repairs.

"It got down to 12 degrees inside, so we had to wear layers of clothes and stay huddled up together under blankets and cook our food in a barbecue pit outside during the freeze," Ms Lambert said. "We heard the pipes burst and for two and a half weeks had to load buckets of water from an outside faucet until Rebuilding Together reached out to help fix it. I don't know what I would have done without this blessing. This support is Godsent."
