Volunteer Crews

Volunteer crews work to repair the interior and/or exterior of the homes of families in need.  Homes can include those of low-income elderly, veterans and people with disabilities, as well as those impacted by Harvey.

Self-managed crews are led by volunteer crew leaders who organize the build, materials and volunteers. Crews can also be lead by crew leaders assigned by Rebuilding Together Houston. To learn more about a crew leader's role, please visit our page for Crew Leaders.

Individuals who would like to volunteer but are not part of a crew will be matched with established crews who need additional support. 

Safe + Sound Services 


Safe + Sound volunteers work on a weekly basis in pairs to install grab bars, steps and handrails, smoke and CO detectors, fire extinguishers, safety aids and air filtration systems to prevent falls, fires, and improve air quality inside homes. Volunteers will be trained and paired to complete safety installations inside homes. If you would like to be paired with a specific volunteer, please note in the application notes area.


Other Ways  to Help


Office Volunteers

Office volunteers are always welcome and can with a variety of tasks: answering phones, data input, word processing and more.

Warehouse Volunteers

Warehouse volunteers prepare and sort needed materials, load crew trucks, and help keep the warehouse clean.
